Oh Hello stamp set by Concord & 9th and Simon Says Stamp | STAMPtember 2017

I’m sorry it’s taken this long to write a corresponding blog post to this card!

I wanted to create a fall card like everyone else (this card is back timed from September 30th!) but it was warm and more summer like here in Texas.

This card was super easy and fun to create! Since I have initiated my 30-day crafty wish list (which can be torturous sometimes waiting for a full month before buying a desired craft supply!), I couldn’t spontaneously purchase a lot from Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember releases!

One release I was lucky to have snagged was Concord and 9th’s Oh Hello stamp set. I can only describe it as beautiful watercolored strokes (circle and varying sizes of streaks) that look absolutely stunning stamped in ink. Not to mention, there are a couple big, script sentiments.

For this card, I used the circular stamp to create a stamped background, using Altenew’s gorgeous inks in Blush, Rose Quartz, and Frosty Pink.

I used Simon Says Stamp new Ultra Navy embossing powder to heat emboss one of the sentiments, Happy Everything. I used Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink to stamp the Wishing You sentiment above the heat embossed part.

To be honest, the card felt plain to me at that point, so I used the bigger stamp streak (I really hope I’m making sense in this post, the watercolor strokes feel hard to accurately capture a description) to heat emboss using Ranger’s Sticky Embossing powder. I used Tonic Studio’s gold Gilding Flakes for the gold accents.

Looking back, I may have used one of the smaller brush stroke stamps for the foiled part so there would be less of it, but never the less, it was fun to add some gold detail and also fun to play with the (messy) gilding flakes.

happy everything
